Dana Andrea Nigrim-Mihaescu, nascuta la Bucuresti, a studiat pianul de la varsta de cinci ani la Brasov centru cultural cu traditii artistice bogate ale Romaniei unde isi face debutul ca solista la 10 ani cu Orchestra simfonica «George Dima». Ea se dezvolta intr-un media cultural distins, bunicul sau, Nicolae Grigore Mihaescu-Nigrim, fiind scriitor, matusa sa, Yarodara Nigrim, actrita, iar mama sa Ana Lucia Nigrim, soprana dramatica.
Eleva inca a Liceului de Muzica din Brasov, Dana Andrea Nigrim este deja invitata ca si solista concertista de catre Orchestra Simfonica a Academiei Nationale de Muzica din Bucuresti cu dirijorul Horia Andreescu (director al Orchestrei Simfonice din Bucuresti). Dupa terminarea Bacalaureatului ca sef de promotie, Dana Andrea Nigrim va continua formarea sa la Academia Nationala de Muzica, unde obtine Masteratul cu premiul intai in Interpretare Pian Solist, Muzica de Camera si Teoria Muzicii (profesori Ana Pitis si Ioana Minei).
La recomandarea pianistei Maria Joao Pires, va studia cu o bursa a guvernului francez la Conservatorul National Superior din Paris cu pianistul Theodor Paraskivescu.
Afirmata ca si unul dintre cei mai talentati pianisti ai generatiei sale, Dana Andrea Nigrim-Mihaescu isi va dezvolta o bogata activitate de solista, fiind invitata in mod regulat de catre orchestrele simfonice romanesti din Bucuresti, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Iasi, Craiova, Targu-Mures, Arad, Ploiesti, Bacau ,cu sefi de orchestra reputati romani: Cristian Mandeal, Petre Sbarcea, Ion Baciu, Ovidiu Balan, Razvan Cernat, Mircea Lucescu, Dan Chirila, I. Ionescu-Galati, Teodor Costin, Hari Bela, Modest Cichirdan, Cristian Neagu, precum si din alte tari: Leonid Nicolaev, Antonio Serrano, Wolfgang Heuer, Joseph Suk, Louis Lavigueuer, Jacques Lacombe,Timothy Vernon, Yannick Nezet-Seguin, Cristian Gort, François Quimet, Peter Willsher, Jean-Paul Brunet, Silvia Tabor, Olivier Robe, Young Chil Lee, castigand aprecierea publicului si a criticilor muzicali.

Dana Andrea Nigrim-Mihaescu a colaborat, de asemenea, in recitaluri de Muzica si Poezie cu actori precum Ion Caramitru, Victor Rebengiuc, Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan, Andrée Lachapelle, Albert Millaire.

Dana Andrea Nigrim-Mihaescu studied music and piano in Brasov, important cultural center of Romania, with rich artistic traditions, where she grew up in a distinguished cultural and musical milieu, her grand father Nicolae Grigore Mihaescu Nigrim, writer, her aunt Yarodara Nigrim, actor, and her mother, Ana Lucia Nigrim an opera singer.
Through the quality of her playing, she was awarded top prizes in the most important national piano competitions, affirming her reputation as one of the most talented Romanian pianists among the finest musicians of her generation.
She first came to public attention at age ten when she appeared as soloist with the Gheorghe Dima Symphonic Orchestra of Brasov. In her career, she sustained numerous solo recitals across the country and concerts with the most important artistic directors and conductors of Romanian Symphonic Orchestras from Bucharest, Sibiu, Cluj, Iasi, Craiova, Targu-Mures, Arad, Ploiesti, Bacau: Cristian Mandeal, Horia Andreescu, Petre Sbarcea, Ion Baciu, Ovidiu Balan, Razvan Cernat, Mircea Lucescu, Ion Ionescu-Galati, Dan Chirila, Modest Cichirdan, Teodor Costin, Cristian Neagu, Hari Bela, as well as with other conductors: Leonid Nicolaev (Russia), A. Serrano (Italy), W. Heuer (Germany), J. Suk (USA), Louis Lavigueur, Jacques Lacombe, François Quimet, Timothy Vernon, Yannick Nezet-Seguin, Cristian Gort, Peter Willsher, Olivier Robe, Jean-Paul Brunet, Claude-Marie Landré, Silvia Tabor (all from Canada), Young Chil Lee (Korea), and won an enthusiastic audience as well as music critics appreciation.
During her intense musical activity she built up a varied repertory, representative of different composers and styles. She appeared on Radio and Television in piano recitals and interviews, several broadcastings being dedicated to her musical path. She also became a soloist of the Brasov Symphonic Orchestra.
Her training includes a baccalaureate in interpretation, which she finished as the first in the series of graduates at the Music Lyceum of Brasov, a Master’s in Interpretation Piano at the National Music University of Bucharest (First Prize in Interpretation Piano, Chamber Music and Theory of Music) with professors Ana Pitis and Ioana Minei, the Advanced Interpretation Course at National Superior Conservatory of Paris with the pianist Theodore Paraskivescu and a Doctorate from the University of Montreal in Piano Interpretation (D. Mus).

80 toti terminat cu 9 si 10 Conservatorul! asa era atunci ca erau numai 20 de studenti la pian in tot Conservatorul. Nu e ceva Special de scris intr-o biografie. Premii de asemenea nu se dadeau ca la scoala.
In anii 80, am fost putini, corect. Numai cei mai buni, au facut ceva memorabil, numai si numai prin eforturile personale.
